ABOUT US

Welcome to C.E.B.C. We are a small group of believers inside of the greater Body of Christ located in Cottageville, WV desiring to be used of God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ to bring honor and glory to His holy and precious name.

We are committed to living a life of Godly love in action. This commitment is rooted in the great love wherewith He hath loved us, accompanied by a God given desire to share that love with everyone as we are given opportunity of God. We desire to give our all, to all people, all the time.      A- For the Glory of God     B- For the Good of Man.

While our desire in part is to meet the temporary earthly needs of people God brings our way, GREATER is the need of meeting their spiritual needs through sharing the glorious Gospel of grace, peace, mercy and love in the Spirit of Christlikeness, all to the edification and welfare of His Church, and as a visible felt witness to unbelievers.

OUR MISSION

1- Point all people to the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ.

2- Provoke the Church to love God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength.

3- Prove God’s love to all people in deed and truth.

Ephesians 2:8

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God

John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

BASIC  BELIEFS

The following provides just a simple outline of what we believe.

1- Scripture. The Holy Bible is the inspired, inerrant, infallible and preserved Word of God. It is pure and perfect, and the supreme and final authority in all matters pertaining to life and Godliness. We choose to use the King James Version but will not condemn or argue with those who do not.

2- God. There is only one true God. He exists eternally as three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — each fully God yet each personally distinct from the other. God is the creator of everything. Glorifying Him is primary.

3- Sin. Everyone, regardless of race, gender, social class, or intellectual ability, was created in God’s image and for communion with God. But because of sin, that communion was broken and all of humanity was separated from God, the source of all life. Because of the fall, everyone deserves God’s just and righteous judgment.

4- Salvation. Jesus Christ is the only Way, the Truth, and the Life, and God freely gives His gift of salvation to anyone who believes in Him. Salvation cannot be earned through personal goodness or human effort. It is a gift that is received by repentance and faith in Christ and his death on the cross and resurrection from the grave.

5- Christ. Jesus Christ, the second Person of the Trinity, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary — he was God in human flesh. He lived a sinless human life, yet willingly took upon himself our sins by dying in our place and on our behalf. He rose bodily, victorious over death. He ascended to Heaven and is at the right hand of the Father as the believer’s advocate and mediator. His earthly return is soon coming!

6- Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity, convicts the world of sin and gives new life to those who trust in Jesus. He indwells all believers and empowers them to lead Christ-like lives. The Spirit gives them spiritual gifts with which to serve fellow believers and reach out to a lost and needy world.

7- Church. The church is not a building with a steeple called the “house of God”. It is a born again people group indwelt by the Holy Spirit. All genuine believers are members of the Body of Christ, or the “church”. The local church is a group of believers who gather regularly wherever God provides a place to do so for the purpose of exalting Christ, through the Spirit, to the Glory of God the Father and the edification of His people. Brotherly love is to be expressed among all born again believers by acceptance and love of one another across all ethnic, cultural, socio-economic, national, generational, gender, and denominational lines.
